Microspot MacDraft Professional Overview Designed for CAD users at all levels, Microspot MacDraft Professional offers a full complement of drawing tools as well as both ANSI and international standard dimensioning capabilities. Its multilayered, scaled drawing environment supports both feet/inches and metric dimensions. In addition, MacDraft Professional offers linked dimensioning to automatically update dimensions as you modify components. Perfect for producing simple sketches or complex drawings, MacDraft Professional is excellent for mechanical, architectural and engineering design, as well as technical illustration. New features in Microspot MacDraft 5.5 enhance performance and improve image and text quality. MacDraft now uses Quartz Graphics, the native graphics engine for OS X. The result is improved filling of curved shapes, superior line quality that now makes it possible to see the difference between hairlines and one-point lines on screen. Also included in the new Quartz Edition is ATSUI text/Unicode character set, which maintains superb quality of text even when rotated. Import Picture has been added to allow the import of PICT, TIFF, GIF, JPEG/JFIF and Windows BMP formats. The pictures can then be resized and rotated to any angle and made transparent. The memory efficiency of picture handling has improved resulting in smaller and faster files. Other enhancements include transparency, which can be applied to lines, fills, double line fills, text and pictures with an opacity range of 0-100 percent, as well as compatibility with Adobe Illustrator by converting files to PDF using the Print to PDF command.
